Today is August 31st and this date only tells us one thing. And he tells us loud and clear: tomorrow we enter September and with it, back to school and back to work. Some of us try to delay the arrival of this moment but you can feel it, you can smell it. It's inevitable!
While dusting our desk and tidying up books, agendas and papers, we have realized how necessary it is for many to have a work area in our home. Either because we work from there, or because we like to have a space at home dedicated to it. However, not all houses have a room to dedicate exclusively to setting up our office and we end up resorting to any corner. But don't panic! Because not having space does not mean that we cannot have a corner of the most neat, used and beautiful.
We proceed to give you some keys and show you some examples so that you can get inspired when setting up your area if you have a small space.
#1. In which room do I set up my work area?
This is the first question you should ask yourself. We take it for granted that we do not have too many rooms to use it for this purpose and that we have to create a multipurpose space. Which is the best option? It will depend, among many other factors, on the dimensions of your house or the light conditions. But, generally, the living room is our best bet. Why? Because it is the room that is most easily stolen a few meters. In addition, rest and relaxation are usually associated with the bedroom, so separating the work environment from it is always positive. Another place that is a good option, as long as you have the space, is the hallway or a passage area.
#2. Once the room has been chosen, in which corner should I set it up?
Analyze the space and the distribution of the furniture well. You can always find a place for your mini office! How about behind the sofa? And in a corner? Integrated into a shelf? If the chosen wall is and you would like this small space to be delimited and separated from the rest, a good idea is to paint the wall differently or add a distinctive element.

#3. How do I decorate my workspace?
Our recommendation is that you opt for light elements, not overloading the space and that lines and style match that of the decoration of the room. What did we achieve? A perfect integration of our work area.
When choosing furniture, the desk is one of the most important because it will mark the dimensions of your mini office. This can be as simple and small as you decide. Even a board anchored to the wall can suffice. Bring your imagination to the matter! Another important element is the lighting, which, for your greater comfort, you should opt for a spot light. How about we play with this element and replace the typical lamp with a ceiling or floor lamp?
#4. How do I organize my workspace?
Organization and order will be the aspects that must prevail in your new work area if you want it to be practical, functional and comfortable. We need shelves and drawers but we don't have much space. How about we build our shelf vertically? What if we opt for a piece of furniture that integrates a shelf and a desk? For your convenience, differentiate between the material you use the most and the one you don't and distribute it farther or closer according to that use.
