DISCOVER ALL OUR DECORATION TO GIVE IT YOUR SPECIAL TOUCH

When the decoration of our home takes shape is when we fall back on certain details that are the most complicated to define, but that are undoubtedly the ones that will bring that touch of style to each room. Decorating the wall above the sofa in the living room is one of those spaces that is most difficult for us to personalize.

The most common resource is to resort to paintings and photographs with which to fill the wall, in this case not everything goes, we must define the distribution, the chromatic range, the theme, the size of the paintings... An endless number of things that will make our wall make sense and integrate with the decoration of the room.

However, this is not the only option we have to decorate the wall above the sofa, we can opt for minimalist style shelves, on them place decorative accessories, magazines, paintings... And we can also look at the trends of the moment, such as combining hanging plants, shelves and luminous letters, all on the same wall.

Here are a few ideas for you to get a beautiful and different wall by combining one or more elements on the same wall:

A single painting

When less is more. In this case, we either opt for a large canvas, on which the attention of the room will fall, or we look for a simple, discreet, but original idea, so that it makes sense. Like the example in the following photo, a simple illustration of a girl with a black mask, super simple, does not detract from the decoration of the room, but at the same time it is totally striking.

Mural or photo collage

We can take advantage of creating an 'album of moments', a collection of moments, all the images in the same tone, for example in black and white and in frames of the same size, creating harmony. Instead of photos we can choose letters, messages or drawings, in the same way, looking for balance, combining the black and white mix or creating a message, or for example choose a box for each letter of a word and in the final collage be able to read that word or phrase.

An orderly mess

Placing several paintings of different sizes, with frames in different tones and formats can be a very aesthetic idea, but always keeping an order, a common point between all the selected paintings. For example, we can choose a theme and choose illustrations that have to do with it, or that all have a predominant color in common.

A bookstore behind the sofa

This is a creative and very cozy idea, bookcases give a feeling of home and family, choosing a beautiful piece of furniture and filling it with our best readings will create a most intellectual atmosphere in our living room.

A large painting next to other small ones

We choose a large painting as the central focus of the wall and around it we place other secondary ones, we can also break the monotony and combine different elements, not only paintings, including a mirror, which will also create a visual effect of greater amplitude in the room.

Compose with illustrated pictures and phrases

Illustrations with images or symbols are very fashionable, creating a composition of both is a modern and youthful idea and it is also a low cost idea, getting beautiful prints that have a special meaning for us, is a cheaper way to decorate the wall than choosing a work of art.

Decorative drawers

A very Nordic bet. The Scandinavian style uses drawers and its famous houses to decorate the wall and on which we can color other decorative accessories.

Shelves on sofa wall

This is one of the most fashionable trends today, placing shelves on the sofa is a perfect idea to place the paintings in a less usual way. but with a lot of style and, in addition, combine them with other decorative elements, plants, vases, candles...

Place our sofa in front of the windows

If we have large windows in our living room, we can place the sofa right in front, this idea brings a lot of clarity to the room and saves us headaches when looking for decorative elements to complete a wall. We can also combine: use as decorative elements part of the wall on which we will place, garlands of lights, shelves, paintings... And also a window, it is an original and very casual mix.

Chromatic contrast

As a last idea I propose you take a risk and paint the wall behind the sofa with a color that contrasts with the rest of the walls, for example a black, as opposed to the white of the rest of the room. It is a simple idea, it is risky but the result is very good. An intense color such as black, a dark gray or a green is ideal to achieve a very cozy corner in the living room, visually it is as if we were in another area of the house.
