Home tour, a house with wood, neutral tones and floors from the last century

We love being able to sneak into this home that dates back to 1924. In fact, although the house has undergone a comprehensive renovation, the floors have been preserved, which have almost 100 years of history behind them. 

When you see the first image, words like light, wood and warmth surely come to your mind. The architecture studio Estudio Hoc Volo is responsible for all the work, thanks to which we are going to put together some key tips to make your home more welcoming and fill it with life. 

Light to create life and enhance energy

According to Feng Shui, light is synonymous with life, it activates the flow of positive energy and improves the balance of Chi (positive energy). Although the essential light is the sun, it will always depend on the orientation of your home and the hours, so we are going to create with lamps those suns and points of light that liven up your home. 

Light as a tool to create a more welcoming home, involves the use of floor lamps, wall lamps and table lamps , to highlight some corners, furniture or objects in our home. As a general rule, always choose warm, yellower lights with a temperature below 3,500K.

Wooden furniture and wallpaper

We continue with the living room that is integrated into the kitchen to open up the spaces more and that all the areas are connected. This makes better use of the light and the available square meters. 

The whole house is marked by wallpapers. In the living room in green tones lining a wardrobe and on the headboard of the bed with a large world map. If you are thinking about how to add colour or a little life to any room, the new wallpapers are easier to apply, resistant and even suitable for the kitchen or bathroom.

It is impossible to talk about how to turn our house into a real home, without stopping at textiles. Cushions, rugs, plaid for the sofa or bed are the real secret of a room that transmits harmony, peace and relaxation. 

As you can see in the image of the living room, don't be afraid to superimpose cushions of different sizes and textures, the key will always be to use a very similar chromatic range. 

In this house, in addition to the living room where they are very present and play with neutral and green tones (look at the contrast of the curtains), we really like linen bedding. A natural material that now gains a lot of strength in summer as it is breathable.
