Home Tour: Desert Wild, a house in the desert

Today on the blog we travel to California, near Joshua Tree National Park, to get to know the Desert Wild,

A spectacular construction, of an adventurous couple, inspired by their travels around the world.

We entered from a large porch, designed with a hanging swing and an elegant plaster sofa to enjoy a nice breakfast and coffee outdoors

while overlooking the town of Joshua Tree.

Accessing the interior of the house, we find the living room, which is attached to the kitchen, creating a  spacious and bright space with beams on the ceiling and

with natural elements; a textured lamp made of braided palm leaf, table and bench made of reclaimed wood that combine wonderfully

with the Moroccan-style textiles that are all over the house.

It is an open space connected to the outside through large windows and sliding doors

facing the backyard and framing the pool, hot tub and desert mountains,

A pleasure for the senses!

The living room has an adobe fireplace that includes benches on both sides.

Layered Moroccan rugs and textured poufs add extra warmth to the whole ambiance.

Above the record player, there is a designated wall space for projecting movies while enjoying the fire.

The master bedroom of the Desert Wild is designed with a large plaster arch on the wall that functions as a decorative headboard.

The bedding is in terracotta tones and there are small minimalist touches on the walls such as hanging plants and sconces.

The master bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom, with a walk-in shower and polished plaster throughout. The large window frames the cactus gardens.

The second bedroom has a plaster bed frame. The arched entrance of the wardrobe is a tribute to Morocco.

The inside of the closet is painted green to match the bedding, and the curtain doors help to soften and balance the colors.

The backyard has plenty of seating areas, next to a pool, hot tub, and fire pit.

The backyard dining room has similar features to other parts of the house (built-in seating, Moroccan pillows)

with hanging lamps made of natural fibers and a dining table made of reclaimed wood.
