The magic of velvet in an elegant, feminine and charming house in Stockholm

Designer and blogger Amelia Widell and her daughter smile every time they walk through the front door of their home. Or, at least, that's what we imagine. Because living in a house like that, who wouldn't think of smiling? She is located in Stockholm, Sweden, and her personality and elegance has captivated us. Shall we go to see it?

Pink, purple and blue are the star colors of a house that dares to mix the essence of the style from different parts of the world. Some spaces transport us to a New York loft, such as the kitchen, other details bring a Parisian air and some key pieces of decoration remind us of the magic of the oriental or Moroccan style. It is an elegant, feminine, romantic, vintage and eclectic house.

We arrive at the living room and a simple shelf dresses the front wall. A shelf, as we have said, simple, but loaded with piled up paintings, aged books, vases and figures. All this placed without order, without any law, without any norm. In front of it, a sofa and a beautiful armchair, both upholstered in velvet in two unusual colors for this furniture: pink and purple. But the key pieces of the living room are undoubtedly the ceiling lamp and the arc lamp. Special, different and unique. They bring a lot of character to this beautiful space.

We arrive at the main room, where blue becomes the protagonist. Light curtains fall to the floor. A heart-stopping bed accompanied by a velvet headboard screams for us. A beautiful couch invites you to sit on it with a good book. And those are some of the things in this room that we could perfectly find in a luxurious hotel. Elegant, romantic and warm at the same time. And the vintage touch is provided by the same lamp that we saw in the living room, the sideboard and mirror and the display case whose interior is occupied by dozens of pairs of shoes. We love what it hides inside, but on the outside we like it even more.

Finally, the refuge of Luca, the designer's daughter. In earth tones and pinks, this room is just as cozy and feminine as the rest of the house. And the best part: very orderly. Everything has its place. The storage pieces are designed so that, in addition to doing their function correctly, they make the room even more beautiful. Luca's bed is magical. Every corner of your room is also magical. Garlands, Chinese balls and lights hang from the ceiling to make it even more charming.
