Including a rug in your home décor means including the perfect complement. We have become accustomed to them being common pieces in homes and, what is better, suitable for all seasons of the year, even in summer. They have been and continue to be a trend in decoration and we did not want to forget about them so... Today we bring you information of utmost importance! We tell you everything you need to know to choose the perfect size rug.
What does a rug offer us? There is currently a wide variety of models on the market and that allows us, first of all, to play with colors to inject life into our room. In the same tone, combining several, with motifs or prints: the options are endless. It also allows us to choose between different fabrics, depending on our needs and tastes, with which we will be able to dress any room and turn it into a warm and welcoming place. On the other hand, rugs are elements that help us to create points of attention (giving importance to the area in which they are included), to separate different environments in the same space (living room – kitchen, for example) and, in some cases, to create depth.

But choosing a rug brings with it a complication: choosing the size. Not getting the right measurement right can turn the result we had in mind into failure because we will obtain a visual effect that is not very aesthetic or very strange to our eye. But don't panic! We proceed to tell you which are the most suitable combinations for the 3 main rooms in which we usually place our rugs: living room, dining room and bedroom ;)
The living room is the place par excellence for rugs. Imagining that the composition we want to create includes sofas, a table and a rug, here are the key options:

#1. Rug that covers ALL furniture composition . That covers and, in addition, exceeds it.
#2. Rug that covers the FRONT of the furniture. This option is suitable when one of the sofas or armchairs is attached to the wall.
#3. Rug that occupies the CENTER of the composition. Ideal for those situations where the available space is small.

For the next space, the dining room, we will decide on the shape of the rug based on that of the table. Is it round, rectangular?

#1. For all shapes, the advice is the same: the rug must include a table and chairs inside. And not only cover but you will also have to overextend the composition enough so that it is not a hassle to throw the chair back. Oh, and keep in mind if the table is extendable ;)

Finally we have the bedroom. In this place, the rug can help create a more intimate and warm atmosphere. Who doesn't like to wake up and have a warm, fluffy rug touch their feet the first thing they touch?

#1. In this case, we will take the beginning of the bed as a base to place the beginning of the rug. The first option is again to cover the bed and bedside tables in their entirety, without invading corridors or other pieces of furniture.
#2. Placing the rug from the middle of the bed to the end is the most common option.
#3. The last option is to use a small rug on one or both of the lengths of the bed. Without covering the bedside tables and without overstepping the bed, it will help create a sense of space.
