Garage converted into a charming two-storey house

There are those who have a special gift for seeing beyond  a simple space and thanks to this we can enjoy original and charming environments such as this two-storey house located in the center of Barcelona. It turns out that a 60 m2 garage that is somewhat dark and gloomy, with high ceilings and an interior patio, has gone from being a practically abandoned premises to an exclusive home in the center of Barcelona.

What a priori could be a problem has become an advantage, such as the high ceilings of this premises, thanks to this, it was decided to create an additional height, thus gaining surface area to take advantage of. On this upper level there is a play area that includes two beds, to achieve privacy, in case you want to use it as a guest room, this is independent from the ground floor by means of vaporous curtains.

On the lower floor we find the living room, dining room and kitchen, all in the same open space, since to generate a feeling of spaciousness, all the partitions have been eliminated, leaving only those strictly necessary for the safety of the structure of the building. The master bedroom and two bathrooms are also located here.

It is surprising looking at these images that this house was really a garage before and the secret is the luminosity achieved, (natural light has been sought in all possible ways) and in the decoration based on elements of vintage lines combined with other simpler and Nordic-inspired and rustic details that make the house a really cozy place. Colors are also essential, neutrals, white as predominant and brushstrokes of turquoise or pink colors.

But there is something even more impressive in the restoration of this old garage and that is that it hid a secret, a patio that, thanks to its remodeling, has become a key point of this home, an outdoor space that merges with the interior thanks to the large glass that separates them, where we have relaxation areas and even a swimming pool.
