How to create an office in your kitchen?

Trends for your kitchen office

Lunch and dinner in the kitchen is a real luxury. You will save time when it comes to cleaning up and promote calm moments around the table, leaving aside the television and other distractions. 

In terms of furniture, you can bet on a table, choose it folding if you don't have many meters and you don't want it to get in the way too much. Similarly , if your kitchen is very long or narrow, round tables at the back of it give very good results. 

Far from the typical 4-chair scheme, we find more and more images where each chair is different or chairs and benches are combined. 

In both cases, in order not to lose the common thread and for the space to have harmony, look for the same material in almost all elements such as wood, white lacquer or natural fibres. Of course, don't lose sight of the fact that you're in the kitchen and everything should be low-maintenance and easy to clean. 

The importance of details to give warmth

Once you have chosen the furniture, the details are what will help you achieve a cozy and careful atmosphere. If the kitchen is spacious and has a lot of natural light, we can distinguish this area with a state-of-the-art wallpaper (they resist humidity and are easily cleaned) or by painting that area in a more intense tone. 

If you can't change the material or play with the colors, a rug can help you delimit the space or our favorite idea, bet on an XL-shaped ceiling lamp that breaks a little with the prevailing aesthetic. Of course, use kitchen accessories such as wooden boards, a vase or plants that bring the space to life.

The breakfast bar, for smaller kitchens

If all the above options do not suit you, either because you do not have space or because you do not like to eat in the kitchen. Create a breakfast bar, a very simple option, which takes up almost nothing and can be very useful and versatile. 

In addition to the bar (it can be a continuation of the countertop, a cantilevered shelf or a part of the island if the kitchen is integrated into the living room. The design will  be marked by the stools and lamps you choose for this space.
