Velvet is the fabric par excellence for the next season. It was last year and it will continue to be so in the coming ones. If we had become accustomed to finding it on clothes, shoes, bags or belts, now we have to get used to seeing it on sofas, chairs or curtains because velvet becomes one of the official protagonists of interior design. Being a sophisticated, elegant, delicate and so soft fabric, it does not seem a bad option at all. On the contrary: we love it. If you haven't succumbed to it yet, read on!

Velvet was, for centuries, a fabric reserved for the nobility. Its oriental origin and its artisan manufacture made it more expensive. Luckily, new manufacturing processes and complementary fabrics made it more accessible. Today, its multiple versions (natural, synthetic, cotton, rayon, nylon...) they allow us all to take a little piece of it home. And so we are doing it.
Using velvet in our decoration means injecting our room with a touch of luxury, distinction, sumptuousness and lots and lots of elegance. This is what the brightness and delicacy of its fabric transmit to us. On the other hand, the comfort and softness of its touch add warmth, softness and comfort to the environment. Decorating with velvet also means not being afraid of color, as blue, greenish and pink tones are her favorites.

Have we convinced you a little more? If you are still hesitating about velvet, it is probably because in the common imagination it is a fabric typical of the retro, eclectic, vintage and very stately style. Maybe your head can't place a velvet armchair in a Nordic or industrial style living room. If so, your head is wrong because the use of velvet has given such a big change that it now blends into any environment, and the contrast of styles becomes the key to this trend. The secret is knowing how to introduce the perfect dose to a room. How? Here are our recommendations:
#1. Sofas and armchairs.
A sofa upholstered in emerald green or navy blue velvet in the middle of your living room has all the cards to become the main protagonist. If you are one of those who are afraid to overdo it with velvet, this is a good way to give a touch to this room in which we spend so much time. If you want a more sophisticated look, we recommend including velvet cushions in the same color. If you want to create contrast, choose them from prints or different colors. And, if a sofa seems too much for you, how about a couple of armchairs?

#2. Chairs.
Another of our big bets are the chairs. The chair at your desk, the one in your reading corner or, for the most daring, the chairs at the dining table, can become special and key elements of your decoration. And, in addition, the most comfortable.

#3. Headboard.
Our bedroom is one of the most special parts of our home. Why not dare to wear velvet in this room? A headboard upholstered in velvet combined, for example, with tufting will inject a touch of elegance and glamour that fits perfectly with decorative styles such as Nordic or vintage.

#5. Textiles.
If you have not yet had the pleasure of trying it, we have to tell you that lying on soft velvet cushions is a real joy. As is covering oneself with blankets and plaids of this fabric. What are you waiting for to adopt a few for your home?
