Inspiration: Logs for our most Nordic Christmas tree

Christmas is a very special time of year and home decoration has always been identified with very traditional shades and decorations; red, green and gold colours, large and very dense Christmas trees, loaded with a lot of decorations, many of them inherited even from our great-grandparents, colourful and bright garlands... And anyone dared  to make any small change! We had the feeling that if we altered something, that essence, that magic of Christmas would be lost. But luckily, little by little decorative trends have managed to work to be present in the decoration of this time of year and seek the balance between the magic of Christmas and current interior design trends.

Of course, as in everything for tastes, colors and in fact, if we are looking for a rustic-inspired environment, then we can make use of that more marked aesthetic of Christmas and that we like to see so much in movies because it invites us to dream. But for lovers of Scandinavian decoration we can also create a totally Christmas atmosphere in our home without, therefore, leaving aside the Nordic style that predominates in our home.

One of the most characteristic elements of Nordic Christmas is also the tree, but unlike the one we are used to seeing from childhood, these are usually only trunks, branches or a set of branches with which to create our most personal and sophisticated tree. And what do I like most about it? Well, with this trend we make room for those ugliest, less populated trees, those that are the ones that people never choose and thus we give them the opportunity to become the protagonists of our home during Christmas.

With these trunks we do not need too much space and the options are endless, we can place them inside a glass or ceramic vase, on a table or sideboard, we can place them inside a wicker basket, we can hold it inside a tin cube to create a vintage effect and we can even make use of other Scandinavian fashions, such as placing towers of magazines on the ground and putting our Yule log on top of them.

And for the most innovative we can even opt for other different ways, place our branch on the wall or ceiling and hang the ornaments on it, without having to place it like the usual tree, on the ground.

In addition, the place in the house no longer has to be the hall or the living room, we can put our tree in the kitchen, a bedroom or place several of different sizes in several rooms.
