Before and After a Children's Bedroom

Today we sneak into Lola's bedroom, a very lucky little girl because the renovation they have done to her room is impressive. From a simple and totally empty room, without any element to start from when creating, to a cozy, personal, fun, relaxed and very practical bedroom.

From a simple room to the bedroom of a little princess

It is true that the room has two important elements that had to be taken advantage of, on the one hand its high ceilings and, on the other hand, a window that covers an entire wall and makes it much easier for natural light to enter.

The first thing that was done was to paint the walls and raise the floor to reveal the original wooden flooring that has been painted white. The tones used for the bedroom are a success because, although we can clearly deduce that it is a girl's room and not a boy's, it has not been marked in such an obvious way, which, in addition, allows Lola to grow up in this room without feeling that she is in a room that is too childish for her age. as the years go by.

The wall has been painted in two tones, the lower part in a luminous range that is between blue, gray and green... And the top in white, so that the environment is as bright as possible.

The window sill is a total plus, because by covering an entire wall it naturally provides us with an additional shelf to the room to place everything we want in it.

Lola's bed is second-hand, as her mother, the author of this renovation, tells us, it cost them only 20 euros. It's a vintage line bed that was red, but they painted it white to fit the style of the room. The clothes with which they have dressed the bed are comfortable and cozy, also in soft tones and with childish prints but not too radical, in fact, when Lola is 10 years older, she will surely still love her wool blanket and her printed cushions.

Distribution of zones

The bedroom has four very well defined spaces: the sleeping area (the bed area and the bedside table), the desk for working, a reading area next to the wardrobe and the play area, at the entrance, where there is a closet where Lola has all her toys at her fingertips and, The most important thing for her, her costume trunk, a restored vintage trunk where she decides every day what to take out and who to represent, a real artist!

This 'before and after' is a treat for decoration lovers, it is a sweet, cozy and fun children's room. A timeless bedroom, with simple lines and neutral colours, an example to realise how we can make the most of any room and how with low cost pieces we can achieve charming and personal environments.

It is also an example of distribution, sometimes we do not fall so much on the decoration of a children's room and, really, it is much more important than a living room or a bathroom, it is our little ones' room, a place where they spend most of the day, where they feel themselves and where they learn to play, to rest, to be responsible... where they take refuge, where they rest... A place for everything. That is why we manage to delimit spaces so that they themselves know how to differentiate moments, order, play, study, collect... It is essential for proper growth, for their happiness and, of course, for that of parents.
